few weeks ago, went to school to se Mr. chua. he is very very fit and compareable to mr. ben. i like his arm muscles its so well built , tone. and he slims especially the face. he really looks different from the past. also he don't wear specs anymore. he also didn't ear a contact lense. meaning he went though eye laser surgery. isn't it cool? looks alot more handsome(doedn't mean he don't in the past)
medical notes sharer:
The laser is directed on the cornea, the outer, clear round structure that covers the colored part of the eye (iris) and the pupil.
three types of surgery.
- LASIK-Under this procedure, a thin layer of the eye's cornea is sliced off to create a flap. This enables the laser to target the tissue underneath. The flap is simply replaced and grows back naturally. Vision is restored almost immediately.
- EPIFLAP or LASEK -This involves the partial removal of the epithelium or outer layer of cells on the eye to reveal the cornea. The cornea is then flattened or reshaped by a laser and the outer cells are pushed back and the eye heals within a few days.
- PRK-It involved the complete removal of the epithelium or the outer layer of cells on the eye.

MEDICAL NOTES SHARER:
Experts found babies whose mothers smoked during pregnancy were born with smaller airways - making them more vulnerable to breathing problems.
Smoking has been linked to various health problems in babies, including prematurity and low birth weight.
Airflow through the breathing tubes was on average 20% lower in babies born to smoking mothers.
The effect appeared to remain with the child during the first 18 months of life.
Babies born to mothers who smoke and those with reduced lung function shortly after birth were much more likely to suffer from wheezing illnesses in the first few years of life.

medical notes sharer:
Avian flu was thought to infect birds only until it jumped the species barrier for the first time in Hong Kong in 1997.
It has been known for some time that a wide range of influenza viruses circulate in wild birds.
Subtypes of the influenza A virus known as (H5N1) and (H9N2) have been known to infect humans.
special factors
Investigations into the Hong Kong outbreaks suggest there were conditions which made transmission to humans more likely:
- poor sanitation of the wholesale markets for poultry and the chicken stalls in the retailed outlets.
- chicken stalls and markets in close proximity to the living and playing areas of a great majority of the housing estates.
- no central slaughtering facility for chickens, and the practice of slaughtering chickens at the retailed outlets is highly unsatisfactory.
- no system to monitor the importation of chickens into Hong Kong from the China mainland to ensure public health safety.
- poor standard of hygiene of local chicken farms.
The symptoms of H5N1 are very similar to other influenza viruses, typically with fever, malaise, myalgia, sore throat and cough. Conjunctivitis is seen in some patients.
